What is the Ariel doll in the holiday dress? The 1991 Tyco Holiday Ariel

It's Holiday Ariel by Tyco (1991) — the first holiday-edition doll from Tyco's Little Mermaid line, released while the film was still in its first merchandising wave and before Mattel took over the license.

How we identified it. The strongest identification class: the product names itself across independent sellers. Five marketplaces list the same doll with the same maker and year — "1991 Tyco Disney's The Little Mermaid Holiday Ariel". No detective work required; the work was separating her from the sea of ordinary Ariel dolls that flood every search.

How to spot a real one: Tyco (not Mattel) branding on the box — that alone dates it 1991–1996; the holiday gown rather than the seashell fin look; boxed examples list the "Holiday Ariel" name on the front. Beware adjacent listings: current Disney Store Ariel plush and later Mattel holiday editions ride the same searches — Tyco + 1991 is the filter.

Seen on a collector's shelf in a photo our system processed. Exact match. During drafting we caught and removed a mismatched row from our own data — a current Disney Store Ariel plush; right character, wrong product — and the source feed has since been corrected upstream. That's the check working, twice.
