The tweed one has a genuinely clever piece of engineering behind it that nobody mentions: the lanolin left in unwashed raw wool made those hats naturally waterproof, which is why Irish farmers and fishermen wore them in the rain. Dating a bucket hat by its label, not its shape

Metal eyelets on the crown point to the utility lineage — military or fishing. Fashion hats usually omit them because they cost money and nobody needs the ventilation.
