Is Furby still made in 2026?

Yes. Hasbro has made Furby continuously since June 2023, when it launched the fifth generation. 50 new Furby toys were listed by US retailers on 1 September 2026, at a median of $25.90.

What is not made is the 1998 original. That line ran 1998-2002 and only exists secondhand.

A Millennium-edition original. The line it belongs to ended in 2002; the brand did not.

Is Furby still made in 2026?

Furby is in production and has been since June 2023 under Hasbro, the company that absorbed Tiger Electronics, the original maker. The current generation abandons the LCD-screen eyes of the 2012 and 2016 versions and returns to drawn eyes, adding glowing ears, five voice-activated modes and over 600 responses.

The line has never run without interruption. Furby has had five separate production runs with gaps between every one of them — 1998-2002, 2005-2007, 2012-2015, 2016-2017 and 2023 to now. "Discontinued" has been true of Furby four times and is not true today.

Read that table carefully before assuming the current line is the cheap option. New Furby product spans $5.99 to $179.58 because "Furby" now covers two different things: a full interactive Furby, and the Furblets and Minis that are pocket-money toys carrying the name. Their median is $12.49. That is the number driving the low end, not a discount on the real thing.

Our honest read

If what you want is the object you remember, buying new will disappoint you. The 2023 Furby is a good toy and it is not a 1998 Furby: the mechanical eyelids, the infrared chatter between units and the slightly unnerving motor noise are all gone, and they were most of the appeal. Buy new for a child. Buy secondhand, at the $75.00 median peer-to-peer sellers are asking, for the memory.

Honest empty: this pull contains no listing for a sealed 1998 Furby from a conventional retailer, which is what you would expect — that line ended in 2002 and only the resale market carries it. Only 11 peer-to-peer Furby listings appear here, so treat the resale row as an indication rather than a market rate.

Last verified 1 September 2026 against 62 Furby-branded toy listings from US advertisers in the CJ product feed, 61 of them carrying a usable price; 50 are new stock at conventional retailers. Furby-branded apparel and accessories are excluded. Production dates are from published reference material, not from the feed.
