What is a Vinylmation figure worth?

The headline number for this search is wrong, and the reason is that four in five listings using the word are not figures at all.

Some links here are affiliate links — if you buy, the retailer may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. We have earned $0 from them so far. Here’s how it works.

Figures asked a median of $17.00 on 2 September 2026, with the middle half between $12.00 and $25.00 and a top asking price of $89.00 for a limited-edition piece. That is 55 listings.

The reason to distrust any other number you see: we pulled 339 live US listings containing the word Vinylmation, and 270 of them are pins, 14 are apparel and bags, and only 55 are plausibly figures. A median computed over all 339 comes out at $13.00 and describes the pin market, not the figure market.

Disney has produced a great many trading pins featuring Vinylmation designs, and pin listings use the word freely. That is not a mislabelling problem to complain about — the pins are real Vinylmation merchandise — but it means the word alone does not describe a market, and anyone quoting one figure for “Vinylmation” is averaging two.

What a Vinylmation figure is

Disney introduced Vinylmation in July 2008, with the first figures arriving that November. They are vinyl collectible figures in a Mickey-shaped body, produced in three sizes: 1.5 inch (Vinylmation Jr.), 3 inch and 9 inch.

Most were sold blind: sealed packaging where the buyer does not know which design is inside until it is opened. A series typically held 8, 12 or 24 designs plus a rarer “chaser” figure. Production declined around 2015 and ceased until a 2022 revival.

The blind-box structure is why condition language matters so much in listings. An unopened box is a lottery ticket with a known set of outcomes; an opened figure is a known object. They are priced as different things and should be.

The limits of this number

Every listing came from one marketplace. All 339 rows in this pull are from a single resale platform — no other US advertiser in the catalogues we query carries Vinylmation at all. So this is one venue’s asking prices, not a market consensus, and a different platform could price the same figures differently.

And these are asking prices. We have no sold data, so the $17.00 median tells you what sellers hope for rather than what buyers pay. For a discontinued blind-box line where most listings sit unsold, that gap is likely to be wide.

Frequently asked

How much is a Vinylmation figure worth?

Figures asked a median of $17.00 on 2 September 2026, with the middle half between $12.00 and $25.00. Limited editions asked up to $89.00.

Why do price guides say Vinylmation is worth $12 or $13?

Because 270 of the 339 live listings using the word are pins, not figures. A median over everything comes out at $13.00 and describes the pin market.

Are Vinylmation figures still made?

Production declined around 2015 and stopped, then the line was revived in 2022. Disney introduced Vinylmation in July 2008.

What sizes do Vinylmation figures come in?

1.5 inch (Vinylmation Jr.), 3 inch and 9 inch.

Is a sealed box worth more than a loose figure?

We cannot say from this data. Only two listings in 339 described themselves as boxed, asking $24.00 and $28.00 against a $17.00 figure median. Two listings is not a finding.

How this guide was made. We research and draft these guides with AI, then a person checks every price, link and factual claim against the source before it publishes. We work this way because it lets us re-verify prices across hundreds of guides in a day, which is what keeps the numbers here current; it does not decide what we recommend. Anything we could not verify is labelled as unverified rather than filled in.
