Where to buy an enamelled Dutch oven

We priced every Dutch oven listing we could reach this morning. The retailer you start at moves the price more than the pot does.

Some links here are affiliate links — if you buy, the retailer may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. We have earned $0 from them so far. Here’s how it works.

The retailer you start at decides what a Dutch oven costs more than the pot does. Across 797 live US listings pulled on 3 September 2026, Wayfair's median was $74.95 and Joss & Main's was $455.00 — a six-fold gap inside one category on one day.

The overall median was $95.81. If you shop one site and conclude Dutch ovens cost four hundred dollars, the site told you that, not the market.

What each retailer's Dutch ovens cost

Every retailer below carried at least five matching listings in our sample. Medians, not averages, because a single $815 pot drags an average around and tells you nothing about what you would actually pay.

797 live US in-stock listings with ‘Dutch oven’ in the title, pulled 3 September 2026. Sale price where one was set.

Prices checked 3 September 2026 against live US retailer listings pulled during this run.

Two of those rows deserve a caveat rather than a click. AllModern, Birch Lane, Joss & Main and Perigold are design-led storefronts that list a curated, higher-priced slice of the same catalogue. They are not overcharging for an identical pot; they are stocking different pots. But if you searched only there, you would never see the $60 end of the market exists.

Buying by brand

If you have already decided on a maker, the question changes from ‘what does a Dutch oven cost’ to ‘who has this one in stock’. Here is where each of the three best-known makers actually appeared in our pull, with the median for pot-shaped items only.

Brand-filtered catalogue pulls, then filtered by title to pots. 3 September 2026.

Lodge's retailer list is the interesting one: sporting-goods and farm retailers, not home stores. If you shop for cookware at cookware retailers, you can miss an entire price tier because it is sold somewhere you were not looking.

Why the same category costs six times more elsewhere

Three things are happening in that table at once, and it is worth separating them, because only one of them is about you overpaying.

  1. Assortment. A design-led retailer stocks the expensive end on purpose. The median moves because the shelf is different, not because the price of any one pot changed.
  2. Brand mix. Le Creuset appears at six retailers in our pull and Lodge at four, with almost no overlap. Where a maker sells sets the price you see.
  3. What the word covers. ‘Dutch oven’ is attached to 2-quart enamelled pots and 7-quart bare-iron camp pots alike. Of our 797 listings, 241 said ‘enamel’ in the title and those ran a $285.00 median — three times the all-listings figure.
A note on how we counted. The catalogue matches multi-word searches loosely: an unfiltered ‘Dutch oven’ query returned textbooks from Knetbooks and VitalSource alongside cookware. Every figure here comes from listings whose title actually contains the phrase, which is why our counts are smaller than the catalogue's own and more trustworthy than them.

Choosing without handling one

We price things; we do not test them, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What the price data can honestly tell you is where the decision points sit.

Frequently asked

Where is the cheapest place to buy a Dutch oven?

Of the retailers carrying enough listings to compare, Zoro ran the lowest median at $59.99 and Wayfair the largest inexpensive selection at a $74.95 median. Design-led retailers sat five to six times higher on the same category.

How much should a Dutch oven cost?

The median across 797 live US listings on 3 September 2026 was $95.81, with half of everything between $59.90 and $235.90. Titles that say 'enamelled' ran a $285.00 median.

Is a $60 Dutch oven worth buying?

We have not cooked in one, so we will not tell you it performs. What we can say is that $60 buys a real enamelled cast iron pot from several retailers today, and that the price gap to a branded pot is mostly brand, finish and warranty rather than a difference in the metal.

Which retailers sell Le Creuset and Staub?

In our pull, Le Creuset pots appeared at Wayfair, Perigold, Macy's, Belk, Abt Electronics and Joss & Main; Staub at Wayfair, Perigold, Macy's, Birch Lane, Belk and AllModern.

How this guide was made. We research and draft these guides with AI, then a person checks every price, link and factual claim against the source before it publishes. We work this way because it lets us re-verify prices across hundreds of guides in a day, which is what keeps the numbers here current; it does not decide what we recommend. Anything we could not verify is labelled as unverified rather than filled in.
