TikTok Shop commission rates, by category

Part of: TikTok for creatorsThe business of being a creatorFor creators

TikTok Shop commission is set by the seller, not by TikTok. The permitted range is reported as 1% to 80%, and rates that creators actually see cluster far lower: open collaborations are reported at roughly 5–15%, with a US average around 13%.

Beauty is reported highest at 15–30% and electronics lowest, because high ticket prices sit on thin margins.

Who sets the number

The first thing to be clear about, because a lot of writing on this subject gets it backwards: TikTok does not publish a commission schedule the way an affiliate network publishes programme terms. Individual sellers set their own rate per product, inside limits TikTok imposes, through their Seller Center.

That means there is no single true answer to "what does TikTok Shop pay". There is a distribution, and the useful question is where in that distribution your category sits.

Reported rates by category

These figures come from 2026 affiliate trade coverage rather than from TikTok. Each is a reported range, and we have kept them as ranges rather than averaging them into a single false-precision number.

CategoryReported commission rangeWhy
Beauty15–30%high margin, high repeat purchase
Health and wellnesstoward the top of the rangesame margin structure
Fashion10–15%mid margin, high return rates
Electronicslowest of the named categorieshigh average order value on thin margins
Cross-category averageabout 13%reported US average of 13.02%
Permitted range1–80%the limits sellers may set within

Read this the right way round: a category with a high rate and a low ticket price can pay less per sale than a category with a low rate and a high ticket price. A 25% commission on a $12 lip product is $3.00. A 6% commission on a $200 device is $12.00.

Open versus targeted collaboration

Two mechanisms, and the difference is who initiated the relationship.

Open collaboration

Targeted collaboration

Why we will not pretend these are official

We tried to get these numbers from TikTok directly. The Seller Center documentation that would carry an authoritative rate schedule sits behind a login and returned an authorisation error to us, and the public Creator Academy article we fetched returned only its navigation.

So every percentage on this page is a figure reported by affiliate trade publications in 2026, cited below, and it should be treated as an informed secondary source rather than as a rate card. That distinction matters more than it might seem: a great many pages on this topic present the same secondary numbers as though TikTok had published them, and a creator planning around them deserves to know which is which.

The authoritative rate for any specific product is visible to you, in your own account, on that product's listing in the affiliate marketplace. That is the number to plan with.

What a rate is actually worth

Rate multiplied by ticket price, against categories we priced live today from US retail feeds. This is the arithmetic that decides what to post about.

If you sellMedian price todayAt 10%At 13%At 25%
Hair clips$10.00$1.00$1.30$2.50
Baby tees$14.00$1.40$1.82$3.50
Belts$18.00$1.80$2.34$4.50
Sealed card boxes$45.00$4.50$5.85$11.25
Building sets$49.99$5.00$6.50$12.50

Method: item prices are medians from 36 keyword queries against US affiliate product feeds on 1 September 2026, 9,977 raw rows deduplicated to 3,980 unique listings across 40 advertisers. The commission percentages are illustrative rates from the reported ranges above, not offers made to us.

The editorial judgment: chasing a headline commission percentage is the wrong optimisation for most creators. A 25% rate on a $10 object pays $2.50, and you need forty sales to clear $100. Moving to a category with a $45 median at half the rate gets you there in eighteen.

Honest empty: we hold no TikTok Shop seller or creator account and have earned $0 in affiliate commission from any network. Nothing here is a rate we have been offered, and no figure on this page is a projection of your earnings.

Platform rules checked 1 September 2026. TikTok changes commerce and creator-programme rules frequently, and the authoritative version lives behind a login in Seller Center and the TikTok app. Confirm anything here against your own account before you rely on it.

Zero-earnings disclosure: LinkToLooks has been approved by no affiliate network and has earned $0 in affiliate revenue to date. Nothing here is an earnings claim, a projection, or a promise of income.
