Which holiday retailers can a gift-guide creator actually earn on?
Every affiliate blog answers “best holiday affiliate programs” with a list somebody wrote from memory. We would rather answer the question the way it actually breaks: run the twenty product searches a Q4 gift guide is really made of, and count who turns up with a joinable product feed behind them.
On 31 August 2026 that produced 3,563 deduplicated US listings from 79 distinct advertisers in a single affiliate network. Here is what the distribution looks like, and what it means for anyone planning a gift guide.
Disclosure that matters on a page like this: LinkToLooks runs affiliate links and has earned $0 from them to date. We are approved by no network and joined to no advertiser programme. Every number below is measured from public product feeds, not from our own earnings, because we have none to report.

Who actually has the inventory
| Advertiser | Listings across 20 Q4 searches | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Wayfair North America | 1,153 | 32.4% |
| Poshmark | 861 | 24.2% |
| Replacements Ltd. | 666 | 18.7% |
| Woot! | 135 | 3.8% |
| Temu | 89 | 2.5% |
| Perigold | 81 | 2.3% |
| Birch Lane | 65 | 1.8% |
| Hobby Lobby | 51 | 1.4% |
| UnbeatableSale.com | 42 | 1.2% |
| Belk | 36 | 1.0% |
| Toynk | 32 | 0.9% |
| Knetbooks.com | 31 | 0.9% |
| CJDemo | 29 | 0.8% |
| VitalSource | 23 | 0.6% |
| Macy's | 23 | 0.6% |
75% of everything a Q4 gift guide can link sits behind three advertisers. One general home retailer, one peer-to-peer marketplace and one replacement-china specialist between them account for 2,680 of the 3,563 listings. That is the single most useful fact on this page: a creator who gets approved by three programmes has covered three quarters of the category, and a creator who gets approved by none has covered none of it, however many posts they write.
What that concentration does to a gift guide
- Apply narrow, not wide. Programme applications are manual and per-advertiser. Three good approvals beat thirty pending ones.
- The long tail is real but thin. 79 advertisers appeared across these searches; 57 of them contributed fewer than ten listings each. They are worth linking when a specific product demands it and not worth an application on their own.
- Category specialists beat general retailers on specific products. A replacement-china seller had 666 listings for one dinnerware pattern family. No general retailer comes close on that kind of query.
- Marketplace inventory is not retailer inventory. The peer-to-peer share of these results is 24.2%, and those listings behave completely differently once published — see the companion piece below.
Price bands, because they decide your commission before the rate does
| Segment | Listings priced | Median price |
|---|---|---|
| All Q4 listings | 3,558 | $33.99 |
| Conventional retailers | 2,697 | $39.99 |
| Peer-to-peer marketplaces | 861 | $20 |
A conventional-retail Q4 item has roughly double the ticket of a marketplace one at the median. Whatever rate a programme pays, order value is the other half of the multiplication, and it is the half a creator can influence by choosing what to feature.
Last verified 31 August 2026. Method: twenty seasonal product queries against one affiliate network's US product feeds, deduplicated on advertiser plus title plus price, 3,563 rows, 79 advertisers. Prices move; read them as the market on that date, not a promise. Peer-to-peer marketplace asks of $500 or more are excluded as seller placeholders, as are repdigit asks such as $1,234 and $9,999 wherever they appear; retailer prices are used as published.

Should I apply to lots of affiliate programmes?

Do you publish commission rates?
No. We are not joined to these programmes, so we cannot read their terms, and we will not repeat rates we cannot verify.
