- Under $25 (29.1%). Small craft bins, fabric cubes, desk organisers. Hobby Lobby's entire range sits here, between $3.49 and $9.99.
- $25 to $100 (52.1%). The bulk of the catalogue: household bins, lidded boxes, sets of two or three, woven baskets.
- Over $100 (18.8%). Furniture-adjacent storage — benches, large woven units, multi-bin shelving. The 90th percentile of the whole category is $159.99.
Three retailers, one bin, one price
This is worth knowing before you comparison-shop. AllModern, Birch Lane, Joss & Main, Perigold and Wayfair North America all appear in this pull as separate retailers, and in the storage category they returned the same listing, at the same $42.00, pointing at the identical image URL.
So four of the twelve retailers in the table above are banners of one company, with medians rising from $49.99 to $83.00 as you move up the brands. That is not four independent prices to compare. It is one assortment strategy presented four ways, and a comparison that treats them as rivals is comparing a company with itself.

The cheap end: Hobby Lobby
- 22 listings, median $5.99, range $3.49 to $9.99. The tightest price band of any retailer in the sample.
- Nothing here is a large household bin. This is the craft-aisle end: small lidded boxes, desk trays, organiser tubs.
- It is the only retailer in the pull whose entire storage range sits under $10, which makes it the honest answer to ‘cheap storage bins’ even though it will not solve a garage.
The deep end: Wayfair
- 153 listings, median $49.99, range $7.99 to $479.96. More than half the entire US-priced sample came from this one retailer.
- The range covers essentially every use: single fabric cubes at the bottom, storage benches and multi-unit systems at the top.
- None of its listings carried a sale price. In a separate study this morning, Wayfair North America returned 2,498 listings with no sale price on any of them — so the absence of a markdown here tells you about its feed convention rather than about its pricing.
The industrial option: Zoro
- 27 listings, median $52.55, range $2.99 to $237.99.
- A different product entirely from the household bins above: stackable parts bins, warehouse totes, shelf bins sold by dimension and load rating.
- Worth a look if what you actually need is durability rather than appearance, and worth avoiding if the bin is going in a living room.
Four things the listing will not tell you
- Dimensions. ‘Storage Bin’ is the entire title on a large share of these listings. Capacity is the one number that decides whether it fits the shelf, and it is on the product page or nowhere.
- Quantity. A $42 listing may be one bin or a set of three, and the photograph is not evidence either way.
- Whether it has a lid. Frequently visible in the image and absent from the text.
- Whether it collapses. Matters for storage when empty, and almost never stated in the title.
